Quik Cross-border: QR payments from visitors, settled in VND

Quik Cross-border is a cross-border QR payment service for small merchants, now in development with partners.

Concept of a visitor scanning a merchant QR code and the merchant receiving VND, in development

Visitors want to pay the way they pay at home, by scanning a QR code with their own banking app. Many small merchants still turn them away or accept cash only. The service aims to let merchants accept those payments and receive Vietnamese dong in their bank account.

Why it matters

New revenue from visitors

Merchants in tourist areas can capture spending they miss today.

One QR at the counter

It uses the same QR experience merchants already use for domestic payments.

A head start for banks

Banks that join the pilot can shape the service around their merchants.

How it is designed to work

  1. Scan: the visitor scans the merchant's QR code.
  2. Pay: they approve in their home banking app.
  3. Route: the payment travels through partner networks.
  4. Settle: the merchant is paid in VND.
